The seventh batch of 5124 pilgrims on Saturday left for theShri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South of Himalayas amid “Bam Bam Bhole” chantsfrom Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar base camp here.

For Pahalgam route 2498 males, 426 females, 19 children and187 sadhus left the base camp in 147 vehicles and for Baltal 1518 males, 438 femalesand 38 sadhus left in 79 vehicles including buses and LMVs. As many as 226vehicles left the base camp for both the routes and was escorted by CRPFpersonnel in jeeps and motorbikes.

The first batch was flagged off from here on Sunday by theAdvisor to Governor K K Sharma.Multi-tier security arrangements have been madefor smooth and successful conduct of the 46-day long Yatra concluding on August15 on the occasion of Sharavan Purnima (Rakshabandhan)
